Standard Planetary Screw

This standard planetary screw is made from 38CrMoAla steel. Raw material is crucial to screw performance, and we select high-strength and wear-resistant steel from renowned Chinese steel producers that meets national standards (GB/T 3077).

Nanhaiya's standard planetary screw consists of a central screw, several planetary screws, and a barrel with internal teeth. The number of planetary screws is proportional to the diameter of the planetary segments, typically ranging from 6 to 18. The clearance between the screw and barrel teeth is typically 0.2-0.4mm. The planetary segments can be designed as two-stage segments, with a disperser ring positioned in between. This disperser ring increases back pressure, enhances material shear, promotes earlier melting, and improves mixing and degassing performance. 

Key components are made of 38CrMoAla steel, an alloy steel with high tensile strength and wear resistance, to ensure the durability and reliability of the screw and barrel. High precision machining is required for the central and planetary screws, using turning, milling, and grinding to ensure surface quality and dimensional accuracy.

Nanhaiya typically performs surface treatment on standard planetary screws and barrels to enhance their wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and surface hardness. The main screw is typically double-nitrided, while the driven screw undergoes a combined quenching and nitriding process. The discharge port is electroplated for corrosion protection.

Nanhaiya's standard planetary screws consist of one central screw, 6-18 planetary screws (the number is proportional to the diameter of the planetary segments), and a toothed barrel. The meshing clearance is precisely controlled at 0.2-0.4mm, ensuring sufficient material shearing while preventing excessive wear.

We utilize a segmented functional design, divided into a feeding section and a planetary section, separated by a thermal insulation layer. The feeding section is responsible for stable material feeding, while the planetary sections focus on melt mixing. These distinct functional divisions prevent interference between the two. Our streamlined flow channel design eliminates dead corners and stagnant areas, and features strong self-cleaning capabilities, reducing material residue and simplifying cleanup during material changes. This makes it particularly suitable for processing multiple batches and varieties of plastics.

Our standard planetary screws not only efficiently process PVC (rigid, semi-rigid, and soft), but are also compatible with a variety of plastics, including ABS, TPO, TPU, and filled polyethylene. This eliminates the need for frequent core component replacement, reducing equipment switching costs.
