Mutant Single Screw

This mutant single screw is made from 38CrMoAla steel. Raw material is crucial to screw performance, and we select high-strength and wear-resistant steel from renowned Chinese steel producers that meets national standards (GB/T 3077).

Nanhaiya's mutant single screw extruder maintains a constant pitch, and its channel depth remains unchanged in the feeding and homogenizing sections. However, the channel depth suddenly becomes shallower in the melting section. This structure enables the screw to exert a strong compressive force on the material in the melting section. As the material enters the compression section from the feeding section, the sudden shallowing of the channel depth causes intense compression and shearing, resulting in a rapid increase in energy and temperature within a short period of time, leading to rapid plasticization.

The mutant single screw extruder's short compression section allows the material to transition from solid to liquid in a shorter time, significantly improving plasticization efficiency and making it suitable for large-scale production. The sudden change in channel depth subjects the material to strong shear forces, which facilitates better plasticization and mixing for some low-viscosity, high-flow plastics.

Nanhaiya's mutant single screw barrels have undergone numerous R&D and improvements and are now integrated into various manufacturers' production lines, achieving state-of-the-art performance. We offer a 1-2 year warranty, depending on the specific material addition ratio. Nanhaiya's barrels undergo a nitriding process, with a 0.8~2m thick layer of nickel-tungsten alloy spray-welded on the most wear-prone areas. This increases the surface hardness of the barrel is HRC55~62, boosting wear resistance by 2-3 times.

Nanhaiya's mutant single screw extruders feature a shorter compression section, typically accounting for approximately 5%-15% of the total screw length, and in some cases, as little as 1-2 times the screw diameter (D). This shorter compression section allows materials to transition from solid to liquid in a shorter time, significantly improving plasticizing efficiency. During the injection molding process, large quantities of plastic can be quickly plasticized and delivered to the mold cavity, meeting production efficiency requirements. This makes it particularly suitable for applications requiring high plasticizing efficiency.

Mutant single screw extruders can be used to produce a variety of plastic profiles, such as door and window profiles and pipes. For crystalline plastics like polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyamide (PA), mutation-type single-screw extruders can quickly melt and plasticize the material, then extrude it through a die into the desired profile shape. Mutation-type single-screw extruders also have a certain application in the extrusion of plastic films, such as PE and PP.
